🥊 CONOR McGREGOR RESPONDS — AND IT’S JACKED UP IN THE BEST WAY
Two days after blowing out his knee at 1:09 of round 1 against Max Holloway at UFC 329 — in front of a record $26.4 million gate in Las Vegas — Conor McGregor posted on Instagram and it stopped us in our tracks.
Here’s what he said:
“My faith is unconditional and I am thankful I get to prove it. My lifestyle changes are permanent and not just until. I am thankful I get to prove it. I am in sin city and remain completely devoid of all sin. I will not open that door nor crack its seal! I am already back to collecting wins! In Jesus name I pray!”
He went on:
“I am a child of God. I am a friend of God. God makes a way for me where there seems to be no way. I am not a victim of my circumstances, I overcome them. God is at work in me to will and to work his good pleasure! My youth is being renewed like the eagles! In Jesus I am thoroughly loved, cherished, adored. I walk in divine health. I live under supernatural protection. All things work out for my good!”
And then he laid out his plan:
“Surgery. Prehab. Return to martial arts practice. Go again. Final fight of the contract. Please God!”

We don’t care what you think about Conor McGregor the fighter. That right there is a man who found something bigger than the sport. His faith is real, his mindset is unbreakable, and honestly — we’re here for it.

⚾ MLB ALL-STAR GAME — TONIGHT IN PHILADELPHIA
The All-Star Game is TONIGHT at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia with first pitch at 5pm PDT on FOX.
The Ohtani situation
Shohei Ohtani had his knee drained Sunday and is sitting out the All-Star Game entirely. He still hit his 21st homer of the season before the break so the bat is fine — but the knee situation is worth watching heading into the second half.
The biggest snubs — and the most Jacked Up All-Star story
Every year there are snubs and this year is no different. The two biggest:
Willson Contreras, 1B, Boston Red Sox — the highest fWAR of any AL position player who didn’t make the roster. Hitting .284 with 20 home runs and a .920 OPS — higher than Bryce Harper, Freddie Freeman, and Matt Olson. Left off because Vladimir Guerrero Jr. — who is hitting .265 with four home runs — got the fan vote. Jacked Up.
Brice Turang, 2B, Milwaukee Brewers — the highest WAR of any second baseman in baseball. Hitting .268 with 12 home runs, 53 RBIs, 13 stolen bases, and elite defense for the second-best team in the majors. Left off because fans voted in Ozzie Albies who has been significantly worse by every measure. Extremely Jacked Up.
But the most Jacked Up All-Star story goes to Zack Wheeler of the Philadelphia Phillies — the game is being played IN HIS HOME STADIUM — who was originally snubbed, then publicly called out the voters and the league, got invited as a replacement, and then REFUSED TO GO. In Philadelphia. His own stadium. That is the most Jacked Up All-Star story in recent memory and we are fully here for it.
The injury rehab break
While the stars play in Philly, the injured guys are getting healthy. Snell is facing hitters. Glasnow threw a bullpen session. Verlander is playing catch. Torres could start a rehab assignment after the break. The second half is going to look different for a lot of contenders.
Padres watch
The Padres sit 3.5 games out of the wild card heading into the break. They won two straight against Toronto to end the first half with momentum. The bullpen is still Jacked Up but Brito got called up to help. Second half starts Friday at Kansas City.

France vs Spain in the World Cup semifinal. Two of the best teams in the tournament going head to head for a spot in the final. France is favored at 40.9% but Spain knocked out Belgium — who knocked out the USA — and has been tactically brilliant all tournament.

England vs Argentina — TOMORROW Wednesday July 15 at 12pm PDT
The other semifinal might be even bigger. England vs Argentina. Bellingham vs Messi. Two of the most passionate fanbases in world football going head to head for a spot in the World Cup Final.
England at 36.9%, Argentina at 31.6%, draw at 31.5%. Genuine coin flip. Could go to extra time and penalties. Buckle up.
