Forget the rumors.
This is the day when teams declare their season is officially Jacked and they trade away what they can or teams declare they are Unjacked and going for the title.
Today’s MLB Trade Deadline has completely changed the National League, and there could still be more moves before the 3:00 PM PDT deadline.
THE GIANTS TRADE LUIS ARRAEZ
The biggest move of the morning belongs to San Francisco.
The Giants traded Luis Arraez and reliever Caleb Kilian to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for top pitching prospects Ramon Marquez and Marty Gair. (San Francisco Chronicle)
Arraez was hitting .324 and leading the National League in batting.
As a Giants fan…
This one hurts.
But if you’re going to trade one of the best pure hitters in baseball, you better get impact pitching back.
Time will tell if the Giants made the right call.
THE PADRES ARE BUYING
The Padres are officially saying they are Unjacked.
They’re adding to the roster.
