THE JACKED LIST — AUGUST 24, 2026
WHO’S HURT, WHO’S COMING BACK & WHAT ACTUALLY MATTERS

NL WEST INJURY BOARD
PADRES
NICK PIVETTA — RHP
Right elbow inflammation.
Pivetta’s rehab assignment was stopped earlier this month after he left an outing after only 14 pitches. He’s continued throwing, but there’s still no firm return date.
At this point, every day that goes by makes his return less useful for the stretch run.
JACKED.
JASON ADAM — RHP
Right shoulder strain.
Adam has been playing catch without pain and remains targeted for a possible September return.
The Padres bullpen would certainly take him back.
GETTING UNJACKED.
JOE MUSGROVE — RHP
Tommy John surgery recovery.
Musgrove remains the Padres injury story I’m watching the closest. He’s been making rehab starts and said after one of his recent outings that it’s the best he’s felt in two years.
Getting Musgrove back for September would be huge.
More on him in the UnJacked List.
DODGERS
ANDY PAGES — OF
Fractured left hand.
This is still the biggest injury on the Dodgers right now.
Pages was placed on the IL Saturday after being hit by a 100.2 mph pitch. The Dodgers expect him to miss roughly four to five weeks, although they believe he can return this season.
That’s a significant player to lose during the stretch run.
I’m not going to pretend I’m devastated.
VERY JACKED.
EDWIN DÍAZ — RHP
Neck inflammation.
Díaz remains on the 15-day IL after being placed there August 18.
JACKED.
WILL SMITH — C
Neck inflammation.
Smith is on the 60-day IL but took live batting practice Friday and could be getting close to beginning a rehab assignment. The current target is an early September return.
GETTING UNJACKED.
TYLER GLASNOW — RHP
Lower back spasms.
Bad news for everyone who isn’t a Dodgers fan.
Glasnow is getting close. After a strong final rehab start, the Dodgers expect him to rejoin the rotation during their upcoming Atlanta series.
UNJACKING.
Unfortunately.
GIANTS
Here we go again.
WILLY ADAMES — SS
Left elbow injury.
Adames injured his elbow on an awkward slide into home plate yesterday against Boston. He stayed in the game initially but was eventually removed.
He’s scheduled for an MRI today.
Adames said the medical staff told him it could be an elbow strain, but there is no official diagnosis yet, so we’re not going to invent one.
JACKED AND WAITING FOR THE MRI.
VICTOR BERICOTO — OF
Knee injury.
Because apparently losing Adames wasn’t enough, Bericoto also left yesterday’s game and is expected to undergo an MRI today.
Bericoto said he believes he avoided a major injury.
Hopefully he’s right.
JACKED.
HARRISON BADER — OF
Left plantar fasciitis.
Bader was transferred to the 60-day IL last week.
His chances of returning this season aren’t looking good.
VERY JACKED.
MARCELO MAYER — SS
Bone stress reaction in left ulna.
Mayer had been making progress on a Triple-A rehab assignment.
Naturally, he then developed a bone bruise in his right foot and had to pause the rehab assignment.
Giants.
STILL JACKED.
DIAMONDBACKS
KETEL MARTE — 2B
Left knee inflammation.
Marte is now officially on the 10-day IL after an MRI showed inflammation in the knee.
Arizona needs him.
The Diamondbacks are right in the Wild Card race, so every game Marte misses matters.
VERY JACKED.
AROUND MLB
We’re not listing every sore hamstring in baseball. Just the stuff that matters.
JACOB WILSON — ATHLETICS
Left shoulder injury.
Wilson is expected to miss the remainder of the season and is scheduled to see a doctor tomorrow to determine the next step.
VERY JACKED.
NICK KURTZ — ATHLETICS
Right thumb strain.
Kurtz has been transferred to the 60-day IL, effectively ending his season.
The A’s injury situation has gotten ugly.
VERY JACKED.
TYLER SODERSTROM — ATHLETICS
Left hip impingement.
Soderstrom underwent season-ending hip surgery Friday.
That’s Wilson, Kurtz and Soderstrom.
Not a good week in Athletics land.
VERY JACKED.
AROUND SPORTS
Football season isn’t even here yet.
BUD CLARK — SEAHAWKS
Broken right ankle.
Seattle’s rookie safety was carted off during last night’s preseason game against Tennessee. Coach Mike Macdonald says Clark will be out for several months.
VERY JACKED.
JAKE BOBO — SEAHAWKS
Season-ending leg injury.
Bobo was already lost for the season during joint practices with Tennessee.
Seattle has had a brutal stretch of injuries before the season has even started.
VERY JACKED.

THE UNJACKED LIST
GEORGE KITTLE — 49ERS
Now this is good news.
Kittle practiced Sunday for the first time since tearing his Achilles in January.
He’s been activated from the PUP list and participated in individual drills as he works toward being ready for the 49ers’ September 10 opener against the Rams.
Getting George Kittle back on a football field?
VERY UNJACKED.
CODY BELLINGER — YANKEES
Bellinger is back.
After missing nearly a month with a hamstring strain, he returned to the Yankees lineup and recorded a hit and scored a run.
UNJACKED.
CARLOS RODÓN — YANKEES
Rodón also returned from elbow inflammation and pitched four innings in his first game back.
Two Yankees getting off the injury report on the same weekend.
UNJACKED.
JOE MUSGROVE — PADRES
Still not back yet, but this remains one of the biggest potential returns in the NL West.
Musgrove is working his way through his rehab assignment after Tommy John surgery and has said this is the best he’s felt in two years.
If the Padres can add a healthy Joe Musgrove to the rotation for the stretch run…
That would be VERY UNJACKED.
