PADRES WIN! DODGERS, THIS IS STARTING TO GET PERSONAL

By Kurtis Rintala

The Padres won. Is it because of me? Possibly, we’ll get to that.

San Diego beat Minnesota 6-2 Friday night, and this was exactly the kind of game I wanted to see after calling out the offense earlier this week.

The bad news?

The Dodgers won.

Again.

And Arizona won too.

It’s getting good in the NL West.

This is Awesome.

THE PADRES OFFENSE LISTENED TO ME!

A couple days ago I called out this Padres offense and told them to STEP IT UP.

Apparently they read JackedUpSportz.

The Padres put up six runs, Fernando Tatis Jr. had three hits, and the top four hitters in the lineup combined for eight hits, four runs and six RBIs.

And remember what I was saying?

RISP!

Get hits when players are in scoring position. If you can’t do that, you can’t win, doesn’t matter what else you do.

San Diego broke a 2-2 tie with a four-run fifth inning. Tatis, Luis Rengifo and Manny Machado delivered RBI singles, and Ty France added a sacrifice fly. France also hit a two-run homer earlier in the game.

I think Ty was the one who read the JUS blog then told everyone else about it.

RANDY VÁSQUEZ

And how about Randy Vásquez?

Seven innings.

Two hits.

Two runs.

No walks.

He threw only 87 pitches and retired the final 10 hitters he faced. Then the Padres bullpen finished the job, with San Diego pitching retiring the final 16 Twins hitters of the game.

PADRES: UNJACKED.

AND THEN THERE ARE THE DODGERS

Sinse I made my prediction that the Padres would win the NL west, the Dodgers haven’t lost a game. I get it Dodgers, it’s personal now.

Padres remain 9 games back

Is nine games a lot?

Yes.

Am I backing off my Padres NL West prediction?

No.

ARIZONA WON TOO

Arizona is sticking around, unlike last year when they dropped off, they look like they got the legs this year to stay in the race. Bring it Arizona, the NL West is getting good!

We won’t talk about the Giants today.

We also won’t talk about pre season football. The 49ers won and are looking good but it’s pre season and doesn’t mean anything. I can’t wait for the regular season to start!

The NL West right now:

Dodgers: 78-51

Padres: 69-60

Diamondbacks: 68-61

Giants: 52-76

Rockies: 50-78

PADRES WINNING: UNJACKED.

PADRES HITTING WITH RISP: VERY UNJACKED.

DODGERS WINNING FOUR STRAIGHT: EXTREMELY JACKED UP.

ARIZONA REFUSING TO GO AWAY: UNJACKED.

MY PADRES NL WEST PREDICTION: STILL ALIVE.

If it’s sports and it’s Jacked Up, we cover it.
