🔴 THE JACKED LIST — OUT & HURTING
Jose Ramirez — Cleveland Guardians — Hand Surgery The All-Star third baseman had surgery Tuesday to remove the hook of a broken hamate bone in his left hand. The procedure was performed in Pennsylvania. No timetable yet but hamate surgeries typically mean 4-6 weeks minimum. Massive loss for Cleveland.
Gleyber Torres — Detroit Tigers — Oblique Torres is headed back to the 10-day IL with his oblique — again. He returned from an oblique injury, hit .341 with six extra-base hits in 11 games, and now he’s back out. The Tigers activated Casey Mize to take his spot. Brutal.
Byron Buxton — Minnesota Twins — Hip Still out after aggravating his hip on a stolen base attempt Sunday. Buxton’s absence was felt Monday as the Twins lost to the Yankees. No timetable.
Giancarlo Stanton — New York Yankees — Knee Manager Aaron Boone is adamant Stanton will return in 2026 but he’s played just 24 games this season. Still no return date. The Yankees are running out of season.
Blake Snell — Los Angeles Dodgers — Left Elbow Still on the 60-day IL. Began a bullpen progression on June 26 and could begin facing hitters around mid-July. Return targeted for late July or early August.
Max Fried — New York Yankees — Elbow Expected to throw around 35 pitches in a live BP session but won’t be ready for at least a month per manager Aaron Boone.
Martin Perez — Atlanta Braves — Left Forearm Placed on the IL after taking a comebacker off his forearm. Left forearm contusion. Braves rotation taking another hit.
Corey Seager — Texas Rangers — IL The Rangers placed Seager on the IL. Significant loss for a Texas team trying to stay in the wild card race.
Randy Vasquez — San Diego Padres — Ankle Still recovering after fainting at the hospital following an ankle injury. No return date. We’re still praying for him.
🟢 THE UNJACKED LIST — RETURNING & REHABBING
Mike Trout — Los Angeles Angels — Hamstring Trout took batting practice July 4th and is targeting a return TODAY, July 7, when the Angels begin a series against the Rangers. If he plays tonight that’s a major comeback. The man has played just 74 games this year in what was shaping up to be a resurgent season.
Tommy Edman — Los Angeles Dodgers — Foot/Ankle Edman pinch-hit on July 5 and 6 and is expected back in the starting lineup TODAY July 7. Welcome back.
Edwin Diaz — Los Angeles Dodgers — Right Elbow Diaz threw live batting practice for the first time July 5. Will face hitters one more time before beginning a rehab assignment. Return targeted for late July.
Jeremy Pena — Houston Astros — Calf Starting a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land today, July 7. Last played June 28. Getting close to a return.
Lance McCullers Jr. — Houston Astros — Right Rotator Cuff Also pitching in Triple-A Sugar Land today alongside Pena. Long road back but he’s throwing live games now.
Evan Phillips — Los Angeles Dodgers — Shoulder Activated off the 60-day IL on July 6. Phillips is back and the Dodgers bullpen just got a boost.
⚠️ JACKED UP BONUS — PADRES ALERT
The Padres got shut out 8-0 by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night. After finally winning Sunday, they came out flat and got handled. They’re now 14 games back in the NL West. Arizona comes back to Petco tonight. Let’s see if San Diego can bounce back.
