The Jacked List: August 15, 2026
Who’s hurt, who’s out, who’s coming back and when.
THE JACKED LIST
Nick Pivetta, Padres
Right elbow/flexor
This one is especially Jacked for San Diego. Pivetta began a rehab assignment, but his progression was paused after he experienced elbow tightness during his first rehab outing. He threw a bullpen session on August 10, but the Padres still have not announced a firm return date.
JACKED UP
Ramón Laureano, Padres
Hip
Laureano remains on the 60-day IL after surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right hip. The Padres have said he is likely to miss the remainder of the season.
JACKED UP
Jason Adam, Padres
Shoulder
Adam remains on the injured list with a right shoulder strain. An MRI showed no major structural damage, and the Padres’ most recent official timetable pointed to late August or early September, but there is no firm return date yet.
JACKED UP
Matt Chapman, Giants
Core
This one isn’t getting better.
Chapman’s 2026 season is effectively over. He’s undergoing surgery after dealing with a core muscle tear and hernia.
For a Giants team already going nowhere, losing Chapman for the rest of the season is:
VERY JACKED UP
Daniel Susac, Giants
Knee
Susac suffered a fractured left kneecap earlier this week.
That’s not a day-to-day situation. It’s another significant injury for a Giants team that should be using the rest of this season to evaluate its young players.
JACKED UP
Willy Adames, Giants
Back
An MRI revealed a Grade 1 lower back strain after Adames left a game with back spasms.
The good news is that the Giants consider him day-to-day and expect him to return this season rather than immediately placing him on the IL.
Jacked, but hopefully not for long.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Blue Jays
Head injury
Vlad Jr. was placed on the 7-day concussion injured list after suffering a head injury Friday. He was accidentally kneed in the head by teammate George Lombard Jr. during a play at third base and was experiencing a headache afterward.
Head injuries aren’t something to mess around with.
JACKED UP
Jacob Wilson, Athletics
Hand
Wilson was hit on the left hand by a 95 mph pitch Friday.
The good news is that X-rays were negative. He’s considered day-to-day with a contusion and swelling.
Jacked, but it could have been a lot worse.
THE UNJACKED LIST
Now the good news.
Joe Musgrove, Padres
Tommy John rehab
This is a big one for San Diego.
Musgrove made another rehab start for Triple-A El Paso on August 15, working 4 2/3 innings and reaching 70 pitches. He continues building toward a return to the Padres rotation, but the club has not announced a firm activation date.
If San Diego keeps playing like this and adds a healthy Joe Musgrove for the stretch run?
Things could get very interesting.
VERY UNJACKED
Tyler Glasnow, Dodgers
Back
I don’t particularly enjoy putting Dodgers on the Unjacked List, but healthy players are healthy players.
Glasnow completed his second rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on August 10, throwing 47 pitches over 2 2/3 innings. The Dodgers plan to keep building him up in the Minors before discussing activation.
Player getting healthy?
UNJACKED
Dodgers getting another starting pitcher?
JACKED UP
Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers
Pitching return
Ohtani has resumed mound work as he builds back up from left knee inflammation and right biceps discomfort. The Dodgers still expect him to pitch again this season, but they have not announced a return date or settled on his role.
Ohtani getting healthy?
UNJACKED
Another weapon for the Dodgers?
Not so much.
Aaron Judge, Yankees
Broken rib
Judge has been cleared for light activity and began playing catch on August 14 as he works his way back from a fractured first rib on his right side. Aaron Boone said a timeline of about a month could be in play, but there is still healing to do and no firm return date has been announced.
There’s still no reason to declare him back until he’s actually ready, but progress is progress.
UNJACKED
MOST JACKED
Nick Pivetta
San Diego is rolling, and getting Pivetta back would be another major addition for the stretch run. He has returned to bullpen work, but his rehab progression and return timetable remain uncertain after the elbow-tightness scare.
MOST UNJACKED
Joe Musgrove
Musgrove continues getting closer to returning to San Diego.
If the Padres keep playing like this and add a healthy Joe Musgrove for the stretch run, that’s something to watch.
Who’s hurt. Who’s out. Who’s coming back and when.
That’s The Jacked List.
