Who’s Hurt and Who’s Coming Back
TOP 3 JACKED
1. Luis Rengifo – Padres – Complete right ACL tear / MCL sprain
Further imaging confirmed a complete tear of Rengifo’s right ACL along with an MCL sprain. His season is over, and he will undergo surgery.
JUS TAKE: The Padres are fighting for a Wild Card spot, and now one of their most reliable bats is done for the year. That is VERY JACKED.
2. Willy Adames – Giants – Moderate left elbow UCL sprain
Adames is on the 10-day IL with a moderate sprain in his left elbow. He received PRP treatment and is beginning the recovery process, with light baseball activity expected as rehab progresses.
JUS TAKE: A minimum four-week recovery window this late in the season puts the rest of his 2026 campaign in serious doubt.
3. Sam Hentges – Giants – Left forearm / flexor strain
Hentges is on the 15-day IL with a left forearm strain. The Giants have shut him down from throwing while the mild flexor strain settles.
JUS TAKE: Another Giant lands on the Jacked List. Forearm trouble for a pitcher is never what you want to see in September.
TOP 3 UNJACKED
1. Will Smith – Dodgers – Returned from neck inflammation
Smith was activated from the 60-day IL on September 1 and is back with Los Angeles after missing nearly three months with neck inflammation.
JUS TAKE: The Dodgers get their All-Star catcher back for the stretch run. That is a major Unjacked upgrade.
2. Joe Musgrove – Padres – Tommy John rehab
Musgrove continues to progress through his Tommy John rehab. He is expected to make at least one more rehab start before a possible return to the Padres.
JUS TAKE: San Diego needs healthy starting pitching. Musgrove getting close to a return is exactly the kind of Unjacked news this rotation needs.
3. Nick Pivetta – Padres – Elbow rehab
Pivetta threw 4 1/3 innings for Triple-A El Paso on August 30 as his rehab from right elbow inflammation continues. He is progressing toward a possible September return.
JUS TAKE: Another Padres starter moving toward the Unjacked side. The timing could not be better.
If it’s sports and it’s Jacked Up, we cover it.
