Kurt grew up in the Bay Area as a die-hard Giants and 49ers fan, studied writing and film, and began his career as a screenwriter with two produced feature films.
He later moved into digital media and entrepreneurship, helping build a company from $0 to more than $40 million in annual revenue at its peak while also writing, podcasting and producing digital entertainment.
Today he brings more than 20 years of experience building and monetizing digital properties, plus hands-on skills in writing, video production, editing, AI workflows, websites and audience growth. That lets JUS stay unusually lean while still producing across multiple formats.

Kodiak — Surf & Conditions Correspondent
Kodiak is JUS’s resident surf expert, beach correspondent and recurring personality. Every morning he and Kurt do the San Diego Surf Check and Daily Bible Verse.
He also has a personal stake in Padres pitching: when San Diego strikes out nine batters, Kodiak gets 25% off treats at Petco.
His analysis is independent and unbiased, except when treats are involved.
